students wanting to major in Communications at a four-year institution.

The two new courses are offered only on the Clearwater Campus:
COM 2000 Intro to Communication-- This 3-credit course in an
introduction to the concepts, perspectives, theories, processes and contexts of
the field of human communications. Students will learn practical applicability
of communications skills. Offered TR from 11 a.m-12:15 p.m.
SPC 2541 Persuasion--This 3-credit course examines
the role of persuasion in public and social life. Students will learn to
analyze and respond to persuasive messages through a study of propaganda and
historical and contemporary perspectives. Offered TR from 12:30-2:15 p.m. 12 weeks.
While SPC does not offer a bachelor’s
degree in communications, our new courses are available for transfer to the University
of South Florida (USF) and
other four-year institutions for students who earn an Associate in Arts
transfer degree. With USF approval, SPC students can satisfy USF prerequisites
by taking the following classes:
