New! Additional Pell Grant available for summer term!
Students can now receive a 2nd Pell award, called Pell 2
, up to their regular scheduled full-time term award for the 2017-18 aid year. Even if you received Pell for full-time enrollment for both fall and spring, you can still receive Pell for the summer term.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is based on financial need and does not need to be repaid. Pell Grants are considered a foundation of federal financial aid, to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources might be added.
For 2018-19, awards range from $650 to $6,095. Federal regulations no longer allow schools to award two Pell Grants in the same award year.
Lifetime Eligibility Used
You can only receive Federal Pell Grant
funding for the equivalent of 12 full-time terms, starting from the
first time you received Federal Pell Grant funding. If you have already
received the equivalent of or exceeded the 12 full-time term limit, you
will no longer be able to receive Pell Grant funds. Calculate your Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used. You may view your current Pell Grant payments at NSLDS.
There are no appeals or exceptions to the 12 full-time terms Pell Grant rule.
