If your home institution has chosen to participate as a FloridaShines institution, you can complete the process online. Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Submit your transient form request online through FloridaShines. (Admission or readmission to SPC is included in this process.)
  2. After your home institution approves your transient form, it will be redirected to SPC. (Students whose initial application to SPC is submitted through FloridaShines will be eligible for a waiver of the $40 application fee. Students who apply to SPC first, and then apply to be a transient student through FloridaShines are not eligible for waiver of the $40 application fee.)
  3. SPC will send you detailed instructions for registering for your approved classes. See registration options below.
  4. If you have any questions concerning your FloridaShines transient student application, contact transientquestions@spcollege.edu.

If your home institution is a Florida private college/university, or a college outside the state, follow the steps below to get started:

  1. If you've never attended St. Petersburg College, apply to SPC as a (non-degree seeking) transient student and pay the $40 application fee. If you have previously attended SPC, but have not enrolled in six or more terms, Login to MySPC and apply for readmission; you do not need to pay the $40 application fee again.
NOTE: F-1 international students must first submit the F-1 transient student application.
