Today’s public safety professionals face some of the greatest challenges in history. Meeting these complexities begins with professional training.
Since 1960, the Southeastern Public Safety Institute (SEPSI) at St.
Petersburg College has offered specialized training and education for those
preparing to enter a public safety profession, in-service professionals
and administrators. Today, SEPSI includes our public safety training academies and in-service training for law enforcement.
The Allstate Center in south St. Petersburg houses SEPSI programs and a variety of grant-funded training programs through the Center for Public Safety Innovation. The Allstate Center also is home to the College of Public Safety Administration, which offers academic degrees. At the Allstate Center you will find spacious conference rooms, teaching labs and classrooms designed for public safety instruction. Our unique and practical learning environments include:
Take a break between classes in our student lounge. The lounge has two ping pong tables, two foosball
tables, couches, chairs, a flat-screen television and vending machines.
Our public safety programs offer something for everyone. Whether you want to cut your teeth in our academies or fulfill mandatory retraining requirements as a professional, our programs fit your life. Want to work your way up the ranks? Our academic programs can help with that.
Looking to move up in your career? Our College of Public Safety Administration academic degrees and certificates give you credentials for promotions.
Meet your mandatory retraining requirements or specialize in what matters to you through our public safety advanced training.
Our public safety training academies for police, corrections officers, former officers and military and firefighters are some of the best in the state and prepare you to become certified.

The Allstate Center is one of SPC’s most unique! As the home to our College of Public Safety Administration as well as our police and corrections academies, the experience at the Allstate Center offers you, as a student, the opportunity to involve yourself in a multitude of activities building the personal and professional development skills necessary for careers in public safety – and many other fields.
Participating in student life events has been shown to increase students' enjoyment of their time in college and allow them to network with other students and staff members working in their fields of interest. All SPC students are welcome to participate in the fun happening at SPC Allstate. Just bring your student ID.
Student Government Association (SGA) provides an excellent opportunity for students of all majors and backgrounds to make an impact on their campus. SGA builds leadership, teamwork, organization, communication, and many other skills valued across all professional industries (plus, it looks great on a resume!) Students meet monthly to discuss programs and events, student activities funds budgeting, and planning for future classes of students. This is a great chance to get involved, make new friends and have fun!
The Student Activities office is located in AC 200. For more information regarding SGA or student life events, please contact:
