Apply for a service project award

  • Thank you for your interest in applying for funding for your 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service project.

The Florida State Legislature has allocated $100,000 this year for service projects for this special day. We are looking for projects that will make the biggest impact on the citizens of St. Petersburg. Projects can be awarded up to $10,000. Projects can also be awarded for smaller amounts. Your Award Application will be given to an Evaluations Committee. Review our project toolkit for ideas and tips. The Committee will score your project based upon these criteria.

    Successful award guidelines

    1 - IMPACT
The project that will serve the most people in a positive manner this year. This may include your project’s relevance to be held again for next year.

Volunteerism is the heart of the Day of Service. Numbers are important. Involve as many people as possible to engage your project with those to be served.

    3 - THEME
Does your project relate to one of these themes?

    • Education
    • Health
    • Clean energy/environmental stewardship
    • Economic opportunity
    • Disaster preparedness
    • Veterans and military families
    • Public safety
    • Neighborhood project
    • Or your idea?

Business partnerships are essential for healthy communities. Submit your service project for your employees in For profit / Non profit  special engagement.

Working collaboratively through inspired action demonstrates how you engage your volunteers and other groups to partner with you in the community.  Ensure that you have enough volunteers to complete a quality project.
