    • December (at the end of the fall term) and
    • May (at the end of the spring term).
Students who complete graduation requirements in summer term may participate in either ceremony.
    ImportantGraduation Candidates
You will be notified if you are a candidate for graduation at your SPC email address approximately six weeks after the term begins. If you do not receive a notification and think you should graduate at the end of the term, please contact your academic advisor who can perform a graduation check with you.
    Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony

To participate in the commencement ceremony, you must register to attend to have your name in the commencement program. The deadline to have your name in the commencement program is Friday, April 5, 2019.

Graduation means you have officially and successfully completed all of your degree requirements that will be recorded on your official transcript. Our Admissions and Records office will certify your graduation and officially confer your degree after final grades are verified at the end of the term. To be eligible, you must be registered for all classes that are required to complete your degree or certificate in the term.

There is no need to apply for graduation. You will automatically be evaluated for the program you are currently pursuing and any degree or certificate embedded within that program. If you have any questions about graduation, please contact us at graduationquestions@spcollege.edu

Students are responsible for determining that all graduation requirements are complete. It is highly recommended that you meet with your Academic Advisor prior to your last semester in order to review your records and ensure all graduation requirements will be met.

Please review your progress by logging into MySPC. Under My Academic Status, select the option ‘View My Advisement Report’ to check your status. If you have any questions about graduation requirements, contact an advisor who can perform a graduation check with you to determine if you are eligible to graduate.

    Graduation Honors
The College gives special recognition to students in a degree program (Bachelor's and Associates) who demonstrate outstanding academic performance while working toward a degree. Honors distinctions is based on your final cumulative GPA. The following chart list the graduation GPA distinctions:

    Associate 3.3 - 3.49 Honors
Associate & Bachelors' 3.5 - 3.69 Cum Laude (with Honors)
3.7 - 3.89 Magna Cum Laude (with High Honors)
3.9 - 4.0 Summa Cum Laude (with Highest Honors)

Honor students are recognized at the commencement ceremony and honors distinctions will be shown on final transcripts.

Final responsibility for meeting graduation requirements rests with you, the student.

    Commencement Ceremony
While earning a college degree or certificate from SPC is an accomplishment worth celebrating, attendance at the official commencement ceremony is optional. Walking across the stage in your cap and gown, however, does not imply or suggest you have met graduation requirements. In order to graduate, you must satisfy all degree requirements.

Commencement is the formal celebration of the degree you have earned and is a time for you to receive well-deserved recognition for your hard work. While you do not have to apply to graduate, you do need to register in MySPC to attend the commencement ceremony. If you would like your name in the Spring 2019 commencement program, you will need to register by April 5, 2019. Please see the full details about registering for commencement

You will receive a diploma cover at the ceremony; however, you will not receive your diploma. After all graduation requirements are verified and the degree conferred, expect to receive your diploma by the end of June 2019. To ensure delivery, make sure your address is updated and accurate since that is the address your diploma will be sent. Verify your current mailing address through MySPC. If you have further questions about your diploma contact us at graduationquestions@spcollege.edu.

Honors designation on your diploma will be based on your final cumulative GPA.

A $15 diploma fee for a duplicate or replacement is required. Contact graduationquestions@spcollege.edu if you have any questions.
