English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes help students whose primary language is not English bring their language skills up to the level where they can succeed with college level course work.
Students seeking a B.S. in Education can choose between a variety of undergraduate program concentrations with Infused English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Learning a foreign language makes you more competitive in today's job market. Students seeking a bachelor's degree who have not had two years of consecutive foreign language in high school can also take classes at SPC to help meet this requirement. SPC offers credit classes in Spanish, French and Study Abroad Spanish Language Immersion. Non-credit language classes also are available.
SPC's Sign Language Interpretation program provides students with sign language skills, an understanding of deaf culture, knowledge of the interpreter's role and skill development to prepare students to get started in the profession of sign language interpreting. American Sign Language will meet SPC's foreign language requirement.
