A long tradition of excellence distinguishes St. Petersburg College as an outstanding undergraduate Fine Arts Program. SPC's comprehensive curriculum and highly-qualified faculty allow for numerous artistic directions and career paths as Music students learn their craft. SPC offers the highest quality private instruction in voice, piano, pipe organ or orchestral instruments. They are among the finest musicians and instructors in the Tampa Bay area and the State of Florida.
Students can take a
variety of music and applied music classes as electives as part of their Associate in Arts degree or to meet common prerequisites for their chosen four-year major. We also offer courses that allow all students to
explore music instruction at the college level. Courses are open to a
wide range of students, including high school students taking music as
credit courses, students taking courses as electives and Pinellas County
residents taking music for enrichment.
We also offer workshops, including Opera Workshop and the Summer Vocal Institute.
The Music Department of St. Petersburg College is located on the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus at 6605 Fifth Ave. N in St. Petersburg. It occupies four buildings on the campus: the Humanities Building (HS), the Ethics Institute (EI), MIRA studio (WP) and the Music Center. The 310-seat Music Center is home to two Steinway concert grand pianos and a Heissler pipe organ. The college also owns the Palladium Theater in downtown St. Petersburg. Learn more.

A liberal arts education with courses in Music can serve as the foundation for advanced degrees and professions such as dancing, choreography, musical performance, producing, directing and teaching.
