How to apply for Financial aid as an Incoming transient student

If you are a degree-seeking student at another institution and are planning to enroll at SPC to take classes and wish to receive your financial assistance from the other institution, you must follow the steps below.

Please note: You cannot receive financial aid at both institutions, only your home school for which you are degree-seeking will give you financial aid.

Pay your tuition, fees, and books/supplies to SPC by SPC's tuition deadline. SPC will not extend due dates for transient students, although our Tuition Payment Plan is an option.

If your home school is a Florida public institution, complete an online Transient Student Admission Application at FloridaShines. To locate the Transient Student Admission Application on the FloridaShines website, proceed to the "Succeed in College" section and select "Take a Course at Another School".
If your home school is a Florida private institution or out-of-state institution, contact your home school's Financial Aid Office to obtain a Consortium Agreement and submit it to SPC Financial Assistance Services.

If your home school is a Florida public institution, SPC will certify your Transient Student Admission Application and electronically send it to your home institution. This is an automated process that occurs at the end of the Last Day to drop with a refund.
If your home school is a Florida private institution or out-of-state institution, Financial Assistance Services will certify the Consortium Agreement from your home institution at the end of the Last Day to drop with a refund and send it to the home institution.

Once you have completed the term, you must submit an official academic transcript from SPC to the Registrar's Office of your home school.

How to apply for Financial aid as an Outgoing transient student

If you are a degree-seeking student at SPC and are planning to enroll at another institution (host school) to take classes and wish to receive your financial assistance from SPC, you must follow the steps below.

Pay your tuition, fees, and books/supplies at your host institution by their tuition deadline.

If your host school is a Florida public institution, complete an online Transient Student Admission Application at FloridaShines. To locate the Transient Student Admission Application on the Florida Shines website, proceed to the “Succeed in College” section and select “Take a Course at Another School”.

If your host school is a Florida private institution or out-of-state institution, please contact us to obtain a Consortium Agreement and submit it to the Financial Aid Office at your host school.

If your host school is a Florida public institution, they will certify your Transient Student Admission Application and electronically send it to SPC. This is an automated process that occurs at the end of their add/drop period. Once Financial Assistance Services receives the certified Transient Student Admission Application from your host school, the financial aid funds for the transient course(s) will be awarded.

If your host school is a Florida private institution or out-of-state institution, they will certify the SPC Consortium Agreement after their add/drop period and send it to SPC. Once Financial Assistance Services receives the certified Consortium Agreement from your host school, the financial aid funds for the transient course(s) will be awarded.

Please note: State of Florida funds such as the Bright Futures Scholarship and Florida Student Assistance Grant are not awarded for transient courses taken at an out of state institution.
